NEW BREMEN, N.Y. – ASA Challenger Late Model and Light Truck competitors, Levi and Zach Arthur each of Lyons Falls, are thankful for their sponsors. Even more so that they work to give back to their financial backers in a time of need.
With help from those close to the Adirondack International Speedway the Arthur Racing team orchestrated a small-scale benefit for a young boy by the name of Owen Lee. His parents are Rodney and Jill Lee of Boonville and the owners of Lee Pontiac-Buick-GMC also located in Boonville. Owen, who is just 2˝ years-old suffers from “Chromosome 18” disorder, a sickness that just 100 people worldwide are effected by. While there is no known cure for the disorder, the Lee family has donated all money raised to the “Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society”.
Taking place in the closing moments of the 2006 Speedway Awards Banquet, the money raised included a total of $170. In addition, Levi and Zach donated a used tire where a large throng of attendee’s signed it for this special boy. In the week following the Awards Banquet the Arthur Brothers came forward and presented Owen and the Lee family with the autograph-adorned tire and the cash. Everyone at AIS as well as the entire Arthur Racing team would like to thank everyone for their support to benefit Owen.
